Shotgun FOOD Challenge No. 5

 JUST SAY NO.

JUST SAY NO.

Shotgun FOOD Challenge No. 5:

Avoid food products containing high-fructose corn syrup.

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is just as bad for you as sugar. It is smart to avoid it because it is a reliable marker for a food product that has been highly processed.

And remember we aren't eating highly processed foods anymore, right?

Also - it is cheap.  It's being added to hundreds of foods that traditionally have not been sweetened  -- breads, condiments, and most snack foods.  S0000 - if you avoid HFCS you will cut way back on your sugar intake.  Kaboom!

Also - it is now popular for the food industry to claim their food product has "no HFCS" or uses "real cane sugar".  These claims want us to believe it is somehow healthier.

Nope.
Sugar is sugar.
Don't fall for it.

EAT REAL FOOD.
NOT TOO MUCH.
MOSTLY PLANTS.
